Resolve to do!

 Daniel’s Resolve

=============

‘But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way.’ Daniel 1:8 (NIV).

Resolve is one of those words we don’t use much anymore. Those who resolve to do something are devoted to a particular principle or committed to a course of action. Those who are resolved are self-disciplined and are able to govern their own emotions, thoughts and actions. Such people are admirable, courageous, but rare.

When Daniel resolved not to defile himself, he was being true to a lifelong determination to do what was right and not to give in to the pressures around him. We too are often assaulted by the pressure to compromise our standards and live more like the world around us.

Merely wanting to live God’s way is not enough to protect us from the onslaught of temptation. We must resolve, like Daniel, to resist the pressure to give in and instead obey God.

It is easier to resist temptation if we plan ahead before it arises. Daniel made up his mind not to defile himself with the royal food and wine before it was placed before him. Preparation is crucial when we are know what is before us. In that way we will be able to stick with our convictions when the temptations come. We will fall into trouble if we have not previously decided where to draw the line. Before such situations arise, we must decide on our commitments. Then when temptation comes, we will be ready to say no.

Prayer:

‘Heavenly Father, help me, just as you did Daniel, to be an overcomer when temptations arise. Father, I am resolved to obey and follow you and will determine to let nothing hinder me walking closely beside you.’

In Jesus’ Mighty Name,

AMEN!

Final Thoughts:

Consider where our greatest area of temptation is just now. Perhaps it is poor eating habits, too much technology, social media, contact with associates who have a negative influence. Whatever the temptation, we must have a strategy that involves saying ‘no’.

Decide early on what is not in our best interests and resolve to not defile ourselves in this way anymore. As God’s holy people, let us determine to keep ourselves pure before Him. With our resolve and the power of the Spirit, we can be overcomers.

Rejoice and Give Thanks!

 Rejoice And Give Thanks!

=================

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

Rejoice in the Lord, for He is your salvation

No matter what the circumstances are today, give thanks and praise His Holy Name.

For He will deliver you from all evil and shower you with His abundant blessings.

Let the fullness of joy saturate your heart as you meditate on the goodness and mercy of God.

His love for you is like the morning sun, bringing light wherever you go.

His favor for you is like the morning dew, fresh every morning and rejuvenating for your soul.

Rejoice, when things are going your way, for you’re enveloped in God’s blessings.

Rejoice when things don’t seem to be going your way, for God is with you, and He’ll lead you out of the illusions of the world (the valley of the shadow of death).

Keep your heart full of the joy of the Lord and see the world around you change according to God’s promises.

Be Greatly Blessed!

--------------

Action Steps:

It’s easy to rejoice and give thanks when things are going well.

But God’s Word tells us to rejoice always, and to give thanks in all circumstances.

This means that even when things don’t seem to be going well, we should be rejoicing.

When Paul and Silas were chained up in prison, they prayed and sang praises to God, and God freed them.

In fact, the Bible is full of stories of people who, when faced with dire circumstances, chose to rejoice, praise God, and give thanks to Him, instead of falling into despair.

That’s because true joy comes when you know our wonderful God intimately.

It comes from knowing that our God is more than able and more than willing to help us.

How can we not rejoice if we know that the God of Heaven and Earth is on our side?

-------------

Let’s pray…

Prayer:

Praise your Name Lord! For your mercies are new every morning.

Your love brings me incredible peace and in your presence is the fullness of joy.

I’ll rejoice and be glad for all that you’ve given me today.

Guard my heart Lord, so that the enemy may not steal my joy.

Give to me today a thankful heart, that I may continually give thanks under all circumstances.

I’m truly humbled and amazed by all that you’ve done for me.

Bless you O Lord! May all glory and power be to you forever and ever.

In Jesus’ Mighty Name,

AMEN!

Lord Directs your path

 God Directs Your Steps

≠=================

“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.” (Psalms 37:23)

Beloved, God has laid out your path before you today.

O royal child of God, it’s time to leave yesterday’s worries behind for God has great things in store for you.

Let go of any regrets for the past or worries for the future. Don’t let doubt or fear blind you from seeing the beautiful path set before you.

God’s Word says that He will direct your steps. And He takes pleasure in your company every step of the way.

He’ll bless you and not curse you. He’ll set you as the head and not the tail. He’ll lift you up and not put you down.

Even if you somehow stray from the path, His rod will defend you from your enemies and His staff will guide you back on track.

Set your heart on the peace of Jesus today. For it’s often through peace (or a lack thereof) that you can tell whether or not you’re following God’s path.

God sets before you life and death, blessings and cursings. So choose life! Choose blessings!

Follow His guidance today, and all will be well.

Be Greatly Blessed!

Action Steps:

Listen to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Through a sense of peace and life (or the lack thereof), you’ll be able to tell where God’s leading you.

You may not be able to see the full path ahead of you, but you can be sure of the destination – life, love, blessings, righteousness, holiness, all the good things God has planned for you.

And the best part is, He’ll be with you every step of the way. To guide you, protect you, and love you.

Let’s pray…

Prayer:

Father, thank you for another new day.

Help me to follow your ways today.

For your thoughts are higher than my thoughts.

And your ways are higher than my ways.

So I choose to follow your ways today Lord.

Guide me and teach me.

Lead me back if I do stray.

Even though I may not know all the details of the path before me, I know that you’re leading me to greater and better things.

I’m excited to see what blessings you’ve planned for me today.

And whatever they are, I receive them with open arms and a thankful heart.

In Jesus’ Mighty Name,

AMEN!

Jesus lives for us!

 He Lives For Us

=============

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. ” (Galatians 2:20)

He Lives! Jesus Christ, the perfect Son of God lives, even though He died for us.

His resurrection is the confirmation that all debts of sin have been paid.

There were many sacrifices made in the history of the Bible, but only one managed to fully redeem us.

For so great was this one sacrifice of Christ that it truly is finished.

All the sins, debts, sicknesses and curses have been borne by Jesus.

He willingly descended in death and yet rose up again victorious.

His resurrection is proof that you need no longer be ashamed. You need no longer be fearful. You need no longer be unloved.

For though our sins were as scarlet, we are now white as snow.

Better yet, Jesus now sits at God’s right hand, with full authority over all heaven and earth.

And He’s there not to judge you, but to intercede for you.

How can your prayers not be effectual if Jesus prays for you? How can the evil one ever hope to harm you if Jesus is fighting for you?

So rest in Jesus’ finished work today.

With Jesus, God has given you the best of the best. For when you have Jesus, you have every good thing you need in your life.

He is your wisdom. He is your strength. He is the very proof of God’s favour for you.

Let the power of His resurrection flow freely in your life today.

Be Greatly Blessed!

Prayer:

Father, I thank you once again for the perfect work of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Through His finished work, all our debts have been fully paid.

I receive His life today. Wherever there is death in my life today, let Jesus’ resurrection power flow through it.

For I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.

I receive Him as my wisdom, my strength, my shield.

He is my all in all.

In Jesus’ Mighty Name,

AMEN!

Minding His business

 Minding His Business

=================

“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs” 1 Timothy 6:10 (NIV).

Let’s talk about everyone’s favorite subject: money. Neutral, yes, but it can bring a snare to our souls. Notice, it is not money itself that is evil, but it is the LOVE of money that is evil. Jesus spoke of the deceitfulness of riches (or wealth) in the above scripture.

Padding the time sheet, withholding information about hidden costs, or failing to share the things wrong with a used car, are all too common. Trying to deceive others to make a profit is just plain wrong.

Generally, there is underlying deception in contemporary business. Some people don’t care about us, it’s all about the money.  We often get emails which say something like this:

” Free Gift”

“You have won…”

“Free marketing expertise…”

These people want us to buy their product before we get their “free gift”. These things are not free at all. Have you ever heard “if you’re not lyin’, you’re not tryin”? It is a common mantra in the business world today.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, I want always to put you first in my business. I commit to work in my job with honesty and integrity. I do not yield to the pressure to go after the money first but I allow you to direct my steps. In so doing, I know that you will always meet my needs. Thank you, Lord.

In Jesus’ Mighty Name,

AMEN!

Final Thoughts:

If we have received Jesus’s sacrificial death on the cross as sufficient payment for our sin, He promises to meet all our needs, so we are free to use our business in service to Him in honesty and integrity. Knowing the deceitfulness of riches will keep us on track: free from affection, pretense, simulation, falsehood, and deceit.

Hallelujah! We don’t have to hustle because He is the one who gives us the power to produce wealth. A final verse in closing:

“But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today” Deuteronomy 8:18.

Jesus paid the price to turn you towards God.

Jesus paid the price to turn you towards God.

All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:6 (NKJV)

Several years ago, I began to be afraid as I looked around at the world. It appeared to be getting worse, not better. Why? Wasn’t it supposed to get better and better? And what about my life? The same thing was happening there. Though I believed it would get better and better, it was clearly worse. I had more problems, not less. The world, however, really frightened me.

Friends told me that they had been reading books on Bible prophecy. They said that the Bible told of our time and the things that were happening now. My reaction? “Give me a break! I’m concerned about reality not stuff written 2000 years ago!” But, call it curiosity or whatever you want, I read those books and some of the Bible as well. What I learned was that the Bible really did tell about the world that I live in and about the future. It even told about me.

Now I was really scared. The problem with the world and the problem with me were one and the same: We had turned our back on God’s way, and we had chosen our own way instead.

I thought my way was right, but my life was a mess. I had my own standards of right and wrong, and I kept them, most of the time. Reading the Bible and the books about prophecy showed me that my standards just didn’t matter. It was God’s standards that I would be judged by. With blazing clarity, I realized that I had blown it. I hadn’t kept God’s Word. I’d chosen my own way over His. That’s why my life was a mess. Not only was it a mess, but my rebellion against God carried an eternal death penalty.

But God, in His great love for the world, and for me, made the only way out. His Name is Jesus, He became a human being, yet without falling and without violating God’s standards, without going His own way. He was tempted at all points, yet He did not sin. He came to earth to live a perfect life and then to die in my place for my sin. He paid the death penalty. Wow!

Prayer:

“Lord, I am sorry. I did it my way. I know that Your Son paid for my sin when He died for me. I know that He rose from the grave and that You will forgive me and give me a new life with You. My life is yours, make it like You want it to be. I will live for You.”

In Jesus’ Mighty Name,

AMEN!

Final Thoughts:

Continuing, He defeated even death because three days later He rose. Not only is it a fact of history but it is a fact that is real today. To confess Him as Lord and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead brings me from death to life. I did just that.

The life that He gave to me was more than I could have imagined at that time. I had no idea of the healing, deliverance and restoration that He would do in my life. It is only the beginning. I will belong to His kingdom forever. It is not because of anything that I am or that I have done, it is because of Him. Oh, how He loves us! If you’re like me and know that you haven’t kept His standards, your life is in a mess created only by you, and you know there is no way out except Jesus, you can come to Him just as I did. Tell Him.

Be Greatly Blessed!
