Pray from the Spirit.
God's Word in 1 Thessalonians 5:23 and Hebrews 4:11-13 says... we are spirit, soul, and body. At salvation, the spirit is regenerated and the Holy Spirit dwells there, but the soul (our mind, will, and emotions) learns many wrong and sinful things from the womb until the day of salvation and even afterward, which need to be crucified (Ephesians 2:20).
We pray, and sometimes our prayers are based on our own selfish desires, driven by our soul (our mind, will, and emotions). We pray thinking that God will act according to how we pray, desire, and ask. These prayers are driven by our soul (mind, will, and emotions).
Whereas spiritual prayers are those where our soul (mind, will, and emotions) is guided by the Holy Spirit according to God's Word and not based on our own will. God answers such prayers.
In the case of prayers made through the soul (mind, will, and emotions), we may feel better in our spirit while praying, but afterward, we will again feel some emptiness within. We will feel tired, dry, and lacking something. If the state of our mind, will, and emotions is the same as it was before salvation, that is, we are still carrying the same anger, hurt, hatred, bitterness, and likes or dislikes, then we are walking in the flesh and have not crucified our spiritual life.
Every day we need to take up our cross and kill those desires/emotions that are not according to God's Word. The noise of worldly and carnal thoughts that have built strongholds in our soul (mind, will, and emotions) will disappear, and we will begin to walk in the Spirit...
God bless you!
